Problem: Deteriorated Steel Manifold

Solution: ANSI/NSF PureEpoxy Liner

HORIZONTAL PIPE. The manifold system is comprised of nine eighteen-inch vertical pipes, three twenty-four-inch lines and a thirty-inch discharge. The system is buried beneath reinforced concrete with the bottom pipe laying at a twenty foot depth. Internal corrosion and leaks developed. Therre was a concern for the systems long term integrity. Located at one of the Napa Valley's premier vineyards, the manifold is a key component of a system protecting multi-million dollar investments. The choice of trenchless rehaabilitation was to use NeoPoxy NPR-2000 ANSI/NSF Standard 61 Certified epoxy to a thickness of up to 250 mils.

Top Left: pipe in original condition. Pits of up to 1/8 inch in 1/4 inch wall. Lining from the bottom through a mitered 22 degrees turn for a total lining length of sixty feet. Total project involved 400 linear feet of eighteen through thirty-inch pipe.

Lining rate is 2.5 linear feet per minute.

Frost prevention is achieved by spraying one-gallon of water per minute per sprinkler head onto the vines when temperatures near freezing. Conversion of water to ice insulates the plants from colder plant killing temperatures.

The pump manifold system delivers up to 24,300 gallons per minute to the vines.

VERTICAL PIPE. Lining of 18-inch vertical steel well casing pipe. This is part of the nine vertical elements that house submerssible pumps. The bottom intersects a 24-inch pipe connecting all nine vertical pipes to the two intake pipes leading from the reservour.
